Preamble of visit to soy sauce manufacturing plant

of

Lee Kum Kee International Holdings Ltd

 

With the transformation of Hong Kong from an industrial city to a financial center in the past few decades, the young generation seldom has opportunities to learn how a sizeable manufacturing plant is operated. The objectives of this industrial visit is to help students obtaining knowledge regarding functioning of a manufacturing plant as well as understanding environment protection concept in the plant operation.

We will visit soy sauce manufacturing plant of Lee Kum Kee International Holdings Ltd which is located at Qi Bao, Xinhui District, Jiangmen City, Guangdong, with an area of 1.13 million square meters installed with advanced technologies. 

This plant was established in 1995 and began production gradually since April 1996. With currently around 2,400 employees, the plant is one of the largest among its peers in mainland China. Products include soy sauce, oyster sauce, shrimp paste, sesame oil, chili sauce and XO sauce, etc. With a total production of over 300,000 tons per annum covering various sauces and condiments, the company has become a leading enterprise in China’s food industry.

Apart from the introduction of the whole soy sauce manufacturing process, this visit will also cover the study of various environmental protection and energy saving facilities such as sewage treatment system, solar energy project, biomass fuel energy generation systems and geothermal system.

Itinerary

7:45am:        Assembly in Sheung Shui Station Platform (towards North, near Cart 1) 

8:30am:        Coaches pick-up in Futian and depart for XinHui

11:30am:      Lunch in plant canteen

12:30pm:      Plant tour

5:30pm:        Stylish dinner in local restaurant

6:30pm:        Transportation to ShenZhen

10:00pm:      Dismissal in LoWu Station

參觀李錦記集團醬油廠

在過去數十年間,香港從一個工業城市轉型成為一個金融中心,年輕一代很少有機會去認識一間龐大的製造工廠如何運作。這次探訪之目的是讓學生認識工廠內的運作過程,以及了解環境保護的理念。

我們將參觀位於廣東省江門市,新會區七堡鎮、佔地110萬平方米,並擁有先進技術設備之李錦記集團醬油生產工廠。

這家工廠於1995年成立,並從19964月開始投入生產。現有員工約2400人,是中國醬油業中規模最大的廠房之一。公司每年總產量達30萬噸,產品包括各種醬料和調味品(如醬油,蠔油,蝦醬,香油,辣椒醬和XO醬等) ,是中國食品行業的翹楚

當日,除了參觀整個醬油的生產過程外,還會參觀各種環保和節能設施,如污水處理系統,太陽能項目,生物質燃料發電系統和地熱系統。
