Dear Parents & Students, 

While fastening your seatbelt before take-off and landing have you ever thought of the air traffic management and information exchange between your flight and ground personnel to ensure your journey is pleasant and safe?  

Air Traffic Control Complex (ATCX) is the division of Civil Aviation Department (CAD) which is located in the mid-field of the Hong Kong International Airport. 

The three main components of the Air Traffic Control Centre, Control Tower and associated training facilities are situated in the ATCX. Manned by a team of highly skilled, dedicated and experienced professionals, the focus of ATCX is on providing flight information services and alerting services in order to maintain a safe, orderly and expeditious flow of air traffic. 

As a result of the overwhelming response to last year’s visit to the Education Path at CAD Headquarters, this year we are organizing a visit to the ATCX to give an opportunity to senior students to have a better understanding of the facilities and operations provided by CAD.  This visit will include an introduction by the ATCX and a guided tour to major facilities. 

Details of the Visit are as follows:

Date:       12 March 2016 (Saturday)

Time:      9:30am to 11:30am

Venue:    Air Traffic Control Complex which is located in the mid-field of the Hong Kong International Airport.

Dress Code:   Casual wear (Shorts, sandals, slippers, and indecent clothes are NOT allowed)

Fee:                Free

Max. No. of Participants:  30 students from senior Form i.e. F.4 – F.6 (by ballot if over-subscribed)

Assembly Time & Place:  9:30am at Tung Chung MTR Station Exit A

Dismissal Time & Place:  Around 11:45am at Tung Chung MTR Station Exit A

Parents of interested students please enroll your son via this eNotice on or before Sunday, 31 January 2016. 

The announcement of the successful applicants will be uploaded to the PTA website www.lscpta.org at 5:00pm of Tuesday, 2 Feb 2016.  As the ATCX is located within the Airport Restricted Area a copy of all visitor’s HKID is needed for entry permit applications.  Successful applicants are to submit a copy of their HKID to the PTA Collection Box at the School Office on or before Friday, 5 February, 2016.  Failure to do so may lead to the cancellation of the offer of a place on this tour.

參觀香港國際機場航空交通管制大樓

香港航空交通管制中心、機場指揮塔及其訓練設施均位於香港國際機場中央的航空交通管制大樓。航空交通管制中心為區內航班提供進場管制和區域管制服務，協調和指導空域及機場內不同飛機的航行路線和飛航模式，以確保香港飛行情報區空中交通的秩序井然有序，防止飛機在地面或者空中發生意外。而機場指揮塔則負責管制一切機場空中交通，包括準備起飛或降落的航班和在滑行道及停機坪上活動的飛機。

去年，本會舉辧民航處總部航空教育徑，廣受同學歡迎，因此，本會將於三月舉辧參觀「香港國際機場航空交通管制大樓」的活動。透過是次活動，同學們有機會參觀大樓內的機場、地面控制塔和雷達管制中心，更可近距離觀察航空交通管制人員的工作情況，定必獲益良多。

參觀「香港國際機場航空交通管制大樓」詳情如下：

日期：2016年3月12日(星期六)

時間：上午9時30分至11時45分

地點：香港大嶼山香港國際機場東輝路1號香港政府民航處航空塔

人數：30人（若參加人數多於30人，本會將抽籤決定）

服裝：便服 (不宜穿著背心、短褲、涼鞋及拖鞋)

費用：全免

集合時間及地點：上午9時30分-東涌地鐵站A出口

解散時間及地點：上午11時45分-東涌地鐵站A出口

我們誠邀各位同學出席是次參觀，請家長於1月31日（星期日）或之前，填妥在「電子教室」的報名表；申請結果將於2月2日（星期二）下午 5時於家長教師會網站 www.lscpta.org 公佈。

由於今次參觀地點在機場禁區範圍，需要事先辦理通行証，因此被取錄的同學需於2月5日（星期五）或之前，將香港身份証副本交往設在校務處之家教會收集箱內，否則參觀的資格將會被取消。
