Parenting is a sacred yet challenging undertaking.  However, it becomes more difficult in this chaotic society overwhelmed by information technology and temptations.  To help parents and teachers attaining professional opinions, the Home-School Co-operation Team and the Parent Teacher Association have jointly set up a library with various categories of books regarding parenting, child development & trendy threats, published by specialist authors.  Attached please find a book list for your reference.

Starting from 8 January 2018, parents / teachers are free to loan books on the list with the following criteria and procedure:

Term of loan: 4 weeks

Quota: at maximum 2 books at a time

Place of collection / return: Guard counter at school entrance

Penalty of loss / damage: Loss - 120% of original cost of the book(s); damage – depends on condition, not more than 100% of original cost of the book(s).

Procedure:

(1)  Interested parent / teacher please send an email to either info@lscpta.org or chan.t@lasalle.edu.hk , stating clearly the S/N of the interested book(s), their own mobile number registered at the College, and their son’s STDN (e.g. s17999, not applicable to teachers);

(2)  The borrower will be provided a code(s) by email within 2 working days, (generated at random, 1 code for 1 book);

(3)  The borrower (or via their son) can collect the book(s) at the Guard Counter (07:00 – 18:00, daily) by telling the code, STDN and mobile number.  Teachers will collect the book(s) from Mr. CHAN Tong directly;

(4)  After reading, please return the book(s) to a collection box at the Guard Counter; &

(5)  An email will be sent from either: info@lscpta.org or chan.t@lasalle.edu.hk to certify return of books within 2 working days after the receipt. 

In case of unavailability of a book, parents will be notified by email within 2 working days.  They will automatically be on the waiting list of that book and will be notified once if the book is available.  We will keep on purchasing appropriate books for the Parents’ Library and updated list will be posted up at the PTA Website: http://www.lscpta.org .

Parents of all current students of the College and teachers are eligible to borrow books from the Parents’ Library.  Please take immediate action and attain useful and invaluable parenting reference through joyful reading.  For enquiries please feel free to contact Mr. CHAN Tong, our Home-School Coordinator, at chan.t@lasalle.edu.hk .

親愛的家長、老師：

教育子女是一項神聖而又充滿挑戰性的任務，但在現今資訊泛濫、充滿誘惑和紛爭的社會，卻為我們的工作加添不少困難和障礙。為協助各位輕鬆地取得專業意見。本校家校合作小組與家長教師會聯合成立了一個「家長圖書閣」，當中收藏了不少由中外作家撰寫有關教育女的書籍，供各位借閱。現附上書目，以供參考。

「家長圖書閣」由2018年1月8日起提供借閱服務，借閱守則和安排如下：

借閱期：最長4星期

借閱限額：同時間最多兩本

借書、還書地點：喇沙書院門衛處

遺失/損壞罰則：遺失需付書價的120%，如損壞則視乎情況而定、不超過書價的100%。

程序：

(1)  有意借閱的家長發電郵至 info@lscpta.org 或 chan.t@lasalle.edu.hk，註明欲借閱書本的 S/N、家長在學校登記的手機號碼和學生編號 (例：s17999，老師不適用)；

(2) 借閱人將於兩個工作天內由電郵收到借閱密碼（隨機制訂，每本書一個密碼）；

(3) 借閱人（或其兒子）可憑借閱密碼、家長手機號碼和學生編號在喇沙書院門衛處領取書本（每日07:00 – 18:00）；老師借、還書則由陳唐老師安排；

(4) 閱讀完畢後，請將書本交回喇沙書院門衛處的還書箱內；及

(5) 還書後兩個工作天內，借閱人將會收到由 info@lscpta.org 或 chan.t@lasalle.edu.hk 發出的確認電郵。

如欲借閱的書本未克提供，借閱人在兩個工作天內會收到由 info@lscpta.org 或 chan.t@lasalle.edu.hk 發出的通知，借閱人並會自動排列在輪候名單上；待書本可供借閱時，我們會立即以電郵通知。我們將不時加添新書，並更新在家教會網站之書目，請隨時參閱家教會網站：http://www.lscpta.org。

家長隨時皆可借閱「家長圖書閣」內之書籍，請各位家長立即行動，在享受閱讀樂趣之餘，亦能從中汲取教兒育女的珍貴經驗，可謂一舉兩得。如有查詢，請發電郵至 chan.t@lasalle.edu.hk，與本校家校合作主任陳唐老師聯絡。
